The following separation criteria will be used to separate (not seed) wrestlers. Below the separation criteria are a list of 2010-2011 events that are being used to source the separation criteria. If you have an event that you feel should be used as separation criteria it must be a trackwrestling event, please send us the event name, location, and date and we will consider adding it.

2012 Rhino Extreme Updates!

As of 4 September we have made significant updated to the 2012 Rhino eXtreme Wrestling Tournament. The venue has changed from Union Pines High School to the Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville.

Free Courses for coaches, parents, and athletes

The National Federation of High School Sports offers coaches, parents and athletes free courses that you can take advantage of.

The relevant courses offered are:

1. Concussion in sports. What you need to know.

2. Sportsmanship

3. The role of the parent in sports

The Hayesville High School wrestling team received the North Carolina High School Athletic Association's AAA Scholar-Athlete team award. In the team division, a varsity team earns AAA Scholar-Athlete recognition by attaining a 3.1 aggregate GPA on a straight 4.0 scale for that designated semester.

The Friends of North Carolina High School Wrestling was formed in 2009 when the CEO of Team Rhino LLC stepped up to facilitate a need in the high school wrestling community.

Across the great state of North Carolina, the NCHSAA awards medals to 4th place in their state championship events. These awards are provided by a generous corporate donor. However, the NCHSAA State Wrestling Championships places to sixth place not fourth. The fifth and sixth place finishers are not awarded medals but are placed on the podium.

The FONCHSW worked with state coaching associations to try and rectify this in the most economical and logical manner. The option that we were left with is the one we currently implement and sustain. We accept donations for first through sixth place medals for all four high school classifications and their respective fourteen weight classes. We purchase those medals and issue them at the state tournament from the upper deck of the stands after the wrestlers come off the podium.

"Our son placed 6th a couple of years ago at States, and if it had not been for your efforts, he would not have received a medal to commemorate his achievement."
